Brushware founder, James Fulcher Brown, would be proud to know that the
company is still owned and operated by his direct descendents
A Brushmaker by trade he immigrated to New Zealand from
the United Kingdom and quickly established his craft in 1879 by supplying
Brushware to a growing nation.

Brushmaking has it’s roots in Europe where long established family
firms were instrumental in passing the craft through generations.
While Brushmaking has been revolutionised by computer
design, engineering and technology, dedication to the craft and a strong
sense of family pride keeps Browns Brushware to the forefront of the Brushware
industry in New Zealand.
